Meet Oswald. 

Oswald is a red-capped sparrow and the first bird to find the feeder I put out this spring! I was very excited to see him! But Oswald is very greedy. He hasn’t told any of his friends about the feeder, so every day he comes to hang out, eating and eating outside my window all by himself. I wish he’d tell the other birds about it! But he does sing for me a lot, so that’s cool. I bet by the end of summer he is going to be REALLY chubby.

My adventures with the porcupine continue! 

She was sitting in that same spot for HOURS so I started to get worried and went out to check on her. I got about 4-5 feet away and she didn’t try to run off, but then I don’t think porcupines are used to anything approaching them. Even though she’s pretty big, I’m guessing she’s young since she doesn’t have a lot of quills. But I got a good look at her and it looks like she’s injured which could be why she isn’t moving a lot. Not a life threatening injury but there is blood on her face (;__;) I gave her a bunch of grapes and left her alone cuz I didn’t want to stress her out.

OMG she’s still out there pouting. Even though a crow and two deer came around to check on her. She hasn’t moved in over an hour. She doesn’t have too many quills I suppose I could go out and check on her…

I think I hurt her feelings. I was outside walking my dog and saw this lump coming toward us. I was like “Oh heeey a groundhog (because we have those) Hey bud-OH SHIT PORCUPINE!” and we ran away. When I looked back at her she was sitting there like this all slumped over and she hasn’t moved for about 20 minutes.  I’M SORRY YOU’RE VERY CUTE.
